Thank you Everyone who made Border-Crossing a success! Mon. 6/2, 6:30pm
After a busy week of last minute PR, rushing to get equipment ready for the event, blood sweat and tears, before we knew it we raised more than 75% (~800GBP/~160,000JPY/~1500USD) of the goal amount for the principal charity Mercy Corp Mongolia, and other charities as well.
Thanks to all the volunteer staff, especially Matt Sherman, Peter Hedderich, Nandor Forgach, Marina Yamaguchi, Aiko Mori, Hiromi, Aiko Maeda, Kanako Shimada, and Masafumi Kawamoto. To the PR Volunteers Roy (JET), Miyuki Fukushima, and Patricia Taniguchi who sent out all the e-mails. Also RADIOSANQ Seto Station for letting us PR the event and the rally live on-air.
Thanks also to our awesome MCs Kurahashi Wakako and Shuumintei Nebosuke (Ota-san), for inviting all their friends as well as coming and doing an awesome time filling in between sets and introducing bands.
Also big up to Retro88, Oran, and ElectrifiedJetShamisenOKITA and their management to make this event happen, especially to Jonathan Nosaka (of Pukka Pukka Boys and Retro88) for his deep musical connections in the Nagoya Area and last minute booking for the event. Also to DJs djNaoki (especially for closing up RumbleFish for one night for the event), cloakAndDagger (for also putting up with the messed up Serato Scratch setup I had), and skeeto.meets.Guido.
And last but not least, the master chief of the event space Heinz Senn of Plasticfactory (Live House/Club/Art Gallery) for all his help and laid backness.
Check out http://plasticfactory.jp for sweet live music, DJs and art gallery showings. Because of the sucess of this event, and people are already wondering about when’s the next show, we’re probably going to catch up on some rest and then start booking and planning for another event, stay tuned.
