After finishing up with the decals and what not, Peter?? (Think that was his name, Gary’s Brother) was kind enough to take us into town to go shopping. Joel and I forgot to pack deodorant and I forgot Shampoo and Conditioner.
We go into this small shopping center, and find a place that’s similar to Walmart. Its a bit hard since we still aren’t used to shopping in “Quid” or GBP. When you actually calculate stuff out….stuff’s expensive… REAL expensive.
We pick up some bar soap, soap dishes, Joel gets a toothbrush cover, and I get my Shampoo and Conditioner. We’re still looking for film for the MiniDV Cam we have.
Later we come across the equivalent of a Radio Shack here, they have MiniDV tapes, but this is where we realized a huge mistake. Originally we decided not to put a stereo in our vehicle because we were just going to put speakers wired to our power adapter that outputs 100v up to a certain wattage.
Joel and I figure we can just buy speakers in the UK and plug them in to our inverter…..but forgot that the UK has a different plug and voltage….(crap). So we have our cross continental journey without music in the car…we’ll have to pick something up sometime soon. Time to head back to the garage.
